Advice for companies discharging their waste water to communal waste water treatment plants

The discharge of industrial wastewater in a sewage treatment plant is called indirect discharge and requires the consent of the sewerage company. If the quality of an industrial sewage differs from the accustomed one, conditions for a permit for indirect discharge have to be met.

Before discharging, the discharger has to inform the sewerage company about the substances to be emitted, the freight and amount of waste water as well as other introductory and monitoring conditions.

The Indirect Dischargers Regulation BGBl.II Nr. 222/1998, which defines the data which has to be transmitted, has to be obeyed.

The approval of the wastewater treatment plant operator has to be obtained.

EnviCare® Engineering GmbH supports the municipal wastewater treatment plant operator in collecting necessary facts, provides professional expertise and advises during the contract constitution. Similarly, yearly reports to state authorities are being made.
